.. is a
solo performance by Roger Nelson gives us a glimpse into the life of
John Wesley.
Born in
1703, John Wesley probably did more to
promote holiness than any other figure in English
history. He is credited with saving England from
the bloody revolution experienced in France. His untiring zeal for God
brought about prison reform, child labour laws, orphanages, medical
care facilities, and even shelters for battered women.
You will
experience the life and times of the man
who rode over 250,000 miles on horseback to bring spiritual renewal to
the English-speaking world. The Man From Aldersgate
encourages spiritual renewal and also presents an excellent opportunity
to help reach your community for Christ.
Roger
Nelson's specialized acting career was
launched in 1977, when his New York pastor actually dreamed that Nelson
was John Wesley. His portrayals of John Wesley and
St. Patrick have been given more than 1,500 times in 32 countries and
50 states. He has played venues as diverse as
Carnegie Hall and Billy Graham headquarters.
This
performance, "The Man from Aldersgate" has
been adapted directly from the journals of John Wesley by playwright
Brad L Smith and was recorded at the 4th Congress for Christian Leaders
at Waikanae on 28th May 2005.
